A great basic mandoline that does certain kinds of slicing well.

I like how easy it is to adjust the thickness of your cuts with just the touch of your thumb. There are three settings, 2 mm, 4 mm, and 6 mm thick. There's also a "lock" position which moves the blade down and out of the way. I also liked the vegetable holder for certain kinds and sizes of veggies. The limitation is that whatever you're slicing can only be a few inches long to fit in the holder (although you can cut some things, like a cucumber, into smaller pieces first).

I found that it worked best when slicing on the thinnest setting, which is actually what a mandoline is especially good for. It's hard to slice that thin and evenly with a knife. It worked well with zucchini, Japanese turnips, and mushrooms.

This particular mandoline is what is called a V-slicer because the blade is in the form of a V, presumably making the cutting work better. My biggest dissatisfaction is that the blade is not removable or replaceable. It is attached with "rivets" so when it eventually gets dull, my only choice will be to throw the whole thing out and buy a new one. But for the price, it is still probably cheaper than other replaceables.

This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.
